For the remainder of CyberMonday, the top-selling consumer DNA test kit, from Ancestry.com, is on sale for 71%-off on Amazon, $34 down from $119.
The test promises to help determine one’s genetic origins from over 3,600 places around the world and potentially facilitate connections to living relatives, while also identifying more than 75 genetic traits.
They promise, “We give you full control over your genetic information. You decide what to share, and with whom.”
The test uses a saliva sample, sent on in a prepaid package to a special lab, with results promised online within roughly six weeks.
The seller indicates that “AncestryDNA is the only DNA test that can show your origins results, DNA matches, and traits by each side of the family, without your parents taking a DNA test.”
